Are you a composer, lyricist, arranger, or publisher (editor) company? Are you a financial rights holder of a musical work (by inheritance or transfer)?
You can become an MSG member and receive royalties from the use of your works.
If you meet the membership conditions below, you can learn how to become a member from the Membership Procedures section.
The conditions related to MSG membership are defined in the following articles of the MSG Internal Regulation:
Membership Application and Acceptance
Article 10
Rights holders who wish to become members shall apply to the Society in writing. Membership applications are decided by the Board of Directors, and the applicant shall be notified in writing within 30 (thirty) days from the application date. Reasons are provided in case of rejection.
For the acceptance of membership applications, the applicant must submit documents proving that at least one work of theirs has been publicly disclosed on digital platforms (excluding social media services), or on radio, television, phonogram, opera, ballet, theater, or similar staged performances. Those who meet the qualifications and criteria foreseen by the Law, Regulation, and Bylaw are accepted as members.
Rights holders must provide an authorization document in accordance with the Regulation on Authorization Documents to be Given to Professional Associations and the conditions determined by the Society in order to become a member.
The membership acceptance decision is made by the Board of Directors by specifying the membership type, taking into account the provisions related to membership types. Accepted members are registered in the membership book and relevant software used by the Society with a serial number.
Decisions of the Board of Directors regarding membership acceptance and membership type may be appealed by the rights holder within 1 (one) month from the date the decision is notified. The appeal is examined by the Board of Directors within at most 1 (one) month from the date of appeal, taking the opinion and recommendations of the Technical Scientific Committee into consideration, and a final decision is made. Rights holders may resort to judicial review against these decisions.
